This policy explains what PlayScout HQ collects, why, and the choices you have. It covers only this website. We keep data collection to what the site actually needs to run.

Information we collect

  • Account information. When you sign in through a provider (Discord, Google, GitHub) or an email sign-in link, we receive and store your email address and, where provided, your display name and avatar. We do not store passwords — authentication is handled by your chosen provider.
  • Content you submit. Reviews, ratings, resource links, and any related text you post. This content is tied to your account so moderation history stays auditable.
  • Technical data. Standard server and security logs (for example IP address and browser type) generated when you use the site.
  • Anti-spam verification. Submissions may be checked with Cloudflare Turnstile to prevent automated abuse.

How we use it

  • To operate the site and display your submissions.
  • To attribute, moderate, and where necessary remove content.
  • To send you a one-time sign-in link when you request one.
  • To prevent spam, abuse, and fraud, and to keep the service secure.

Cookies

We use an essential session cookie to keep you signed in. Anti-spam verification may also set cookies. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Service providers

We rely on a small set of processors to run the site: hosting and serverless functions, a managed database, and an email provider for sign-in links. We also read public data from Roblox, YouTube, and Reddit to enrich game pages. We do not sell your personal information.

Data retention & your choices

We keep account data and submissions for as long as your account is active. You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account and submitted content by emailing contact@playscouthq.com. Some content may be retained in anonymized form where needed for moderation integrity.

Children

PlayScout HQ is a general-audience information site and is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will remove it.

Changes

We may update this policy as the site evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the “last updated” date above.
